Pelatih Madura United FC Paulo Menezes menyatakan berupaya memperbaiki penyelesaian akhir pemain klub berjuluk "Laskar Sape Kerrap" itu menyusul kekalahan telak 1-4 dari Persija Jakarta di Stadion Pakansari, Bogor, Rabu (6/11).

 

"Madura sebenarnya banyak menciptakan peluang, akan tetapi masih lemah di penyelesaian akhir, sehingga peluang yang tercipta tidak bisa dikonversi menjadi gol," katanya dalam keterangan yang disampaikan kepada media di Pamekasan, Jawa Timur, Jumat malam.

 

Pelatih asal Portugal yang menggantikan Widodo Cahyono Putro ini menjelaskan, berdasarkan statistik PT LIB di laga pekan ke-10 Liga 1 Indonesia 2024/2025 saat menghadapi Persija Jakarta, Madura United mampu menciptakan sembilan kreasi peluang, sama dengan yang diciptakan Persija.

 

Di laga itu, Madura juga unggul dalam upaya melepaskan tendangan yang mencapai 14, sementara Persija hanya mencatatkan 12 tembakan.

 

"Tapi, efektivitas Madura United kalah jauh dari Persija," katanya.

 

Ia menjelaskan, Persija bisa membuat sebanyak tujuh tendangan mengarah ke gawang lawan, sedangkan Madura United FC hanya empat tendangan.

 

"Padahal dari sisi kuantitas tendangan yang diciptakan oleh pemain Madura lebih banyak, yakni antara 14 dan 12," katanya.

Karena itu, sambung dia, pihaknya perlu terus melakukan perbaikan, agar anak bisa bermain lebih efektif dan mampu memaksimalkan peluang untuk menjadi gol.

 

Meski gagal meraih kemenangan, Paulo tidak mau menuding pemain tertentu menjadi biang kekalahan karena menurutnya tim adalah satu kesatuan. Kerja sama dan kekompakan antarpemain merupakan kunci kemenangan.

 

"Di Madura United ini, kami melihat adanya kerja keras semua pemain. Tapi kami harus belajar dari kesalahan, menyatu dengan tim dan bawa Madura lebih baik," katanya.

 

Saat ini Madura United berada di peringkat 17 klasemen sementara Liga 1 Indonesia 2024/2025 dengan meraih 10 poin hasil dari satu kali menang, tiga kali seri, dan enam kali kalah.
